LivingWorks safeTALK gives you the confidence and practical skills to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide and take action by connecting them to safety.
You don’t need prior experience or a special background – just a willingness to help and a few hours of your time.
Together, we can make communities everywhere safer from suicide.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don't need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 16 or older can learn and use the ASIST model.

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist an adolescent experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for youth in mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help a young person in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
The Coping Strategies Workshop is an interactive, strengths-based program designed to help build practical skills for managing stress, emotions, and everyday challenges. Through hands-on activities, movement-based tools, and creative expression, participants learn healthy outlets that support emotional regulation, resilience, and overall well-being.
This workshop introduces students to a variety of coping methods—both proactive and in-the-moment strategies—so each participant can discover what works best for their unique needs. Facilitators guide students through engaging stations such as energy-release activities, music-based coping, positive affirmation building, art as a coping tool, journaling, guided rest and relaxation, and breathing techniques. Each station emphasizes safety, self-awareness, and the importance of having multiple healthy ways to handle tough emotions.
By the end of the workshop, students will:
This workshop supports the development of emotionally healthy youth, strengthens school climate, and empowers participants with skills that improve focus, behavior, communication, and overall mental wellness.
The SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention Program (SOS) is a universal, school-based depression awareness and suicide prevention program designed for middle-school (ages 11–13) or high-school
(ages 13–17) students.
The goals are to:
1) decrease suicide and suicide attempts by increasing student knowledge and adaptive attitudes about depression,
2) encourage personal help-seeking and/or help-seeking on behalf of a friend,
3) reduce the stigma of mental illness and acknowledge the importance of seeking help or treatment,
4) engage parents and school staff as partners in prevention.
